Jeans for Genes Day

Each year, Australians unite by wearing their favourite jeans and outdoing each other with crazy denim outfits, and donating money or purchasing merchandise, to support genetic research.

On the first Friday in August each year workplaces, schools and streets become a sea of denim in a united stance against childhood disease.

Every dollar raised on the day helps scientists at Children’s Medical Research Institute discover treatments and cures, to give every child the opportunity to live a long and healthy life.  You can find out more on the Jeans for Genes Website here.

My Story

As a mother of 3 growing girls, I try not to take anything for granted.  When I started sewing I knew that I wanted to give to the community in some meaningful way.  After one of my customers purchased a denim bib a few years ago for her daughter to wear on Jeans for Genes day I knew I wanted to get involved.

Since then I have been able to raise money by selling denim bibs through my store online and providing denim bibs for Jeans for Genes to sell at the Baby and Toddler Show in Sydney in 2018.  I hope to be able to raise even more funds this year to help these precious children enjoy life the way many of us do.

How you can help

Buy a Denim bib or scrunchie during our Jeans for Genes fundraising event from April through August.  I will donate 50% from the sale of all denim bibs and scrunchies to the Jeans for Genes campaign.

If you would like to donate but don’t have the need for a bib or scrunchie, you can make a direct donation through my Supporter Page.  Any donation is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your support.
